Stencils Against Fracking

Stencils Against Fracking

I’m writing today to highlight our second venue for Stencils Against Fracking, a public art project that uses out-of-the-box stencils and spray chalk to raise awareness of the dangers of fracking in California. We are bringing the project to Long Beach, where the East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice will be raising awareness of fracking in their community!

I would also like to extend the offer to anti-fracking activists and groups around the state to use this creative tool to raise awareness and further their own fight against fracking and other extreme well-stimulation techniques!

Stencils Against Fracking can help your group:

• Build a resilient community who can fight back against fracking
• Raise awareness of the dangers of fracking
• Educate and encourage voters to vote YES to a ban on fracking
• Bring media attention to your efforts!

If your group is interested in bringing Stencils Against Fracking to an event in your community, then please get in touch! We at the Citizen Engagement Lab would love to hear from you and work together to bring these stencils and spray chalk to your community. Email us at stencilsagainstfracking@gmail.com.

As the Project Manager of the project for the Citizen Engagement Lab, I have been working closely with several communities to use this creative and inspiring project as a tool to help secure a ban on fracking. Check out the photos here of our first event with the Cal Poly Students Against Fracking and the SLO Clean Water Action in San Luis Obispo!

Sincerely,
Sarah Craig

P.S. The spray chalk that we use is non-toxic, water-soluble, and non-permanent and it easily washes off. If necessary, we will work with you to help wash off the stencils at the end of the day.
